Blog Again

it’s been awhile after my first and last blog about the UMID that i got. unfortunately i had the replacement after three months of waiting!

bad thing is i also lost my Voter’s ID and Passport. both of them are used when buying doctor prescribed medicines. for voter’s ID, i applied 5 years ago (after transferring my records from Bulacan to QC) and until now it’s not yet printed, as per COMELEC. while my valid passport is not yet replace because it will expire on 2019 and the replacement fee is the same as the new one. i decided to just wait for the expiration then renew it on 2019 so that it will have 10 years of validity.

that’s all for now. i’ll just use this site for some reviews of different products and services.

Getting a Replacement UMID via SSS

I had my UMID 2 years ago and I think it was lost in the mall when I purchased medicine which requires prescription and ID. It was a replacement for my ‘old board plastic laminated SSS ID.’
The process for replacement ID is so easy. You need a UMID form, your old SSS ID (if you still have it) then visit the nearest SSS branch. Use a black or blue inked pen in filling up the form. Make sure to put the correct information, especially ‘height and weight’ because it requires centimeters and kilograms repectively. By the way it’s free for the first applicants so grab this opportunity. Also make sure to bring 2 valid ID’s. Have your form validated first then wait for your turn to be called for biometrics (all computerized data capture of your face thumb marks and signature). After that, part of the form will be given to you as confimation then wait for not more than 30 days for you to receive it via snail mail.
The process of replacement ID if it is lost or damage is almost the same, you just need to add an affidavit of lost (Php 150.00) and replacement fee of Php 300.00. I’ve notice that it’s all in one ID for SSS/GSIS, Philhealth, Pagibig and BIR. So out of curiousity I asked the personnel who took my biometrics about it (the UMID form only requires the TIN & SSS numbers), he told me that once I got the card and activate it, it will ask for my other data. And that activation process is another story.
‘Til my next blog! God bless you and be a blessing.

The Day I Survived the Metro

Before I start my new job next week, the company is expected for me to complete the requirements (medical exams and documents). I Googled on how to get NBI Clearance faster and one blog said it’s faster if I get it in their main headquarters in UN Avenue, Manila. The last time I got my NBI Clearance is in the Mandaluyong City Hall and it took me 6-7 hours (they only give it to the first 500 applicants). The place is not well ventilated and the line is from ground floor to third floor! And I don’t want to experience that again.
So after I received a text message from Sykes, I decided to get the NBI Clerance in NBI Main HQ the next day and the best way to get there is via MRT3 & LRT1. I thought it will just take less than 1 hour from Boni station to UN station, I was wrong. It took me 2 hours (including the waiting for the train, slow moving train and human traffic in the Metropoint link) and the fare is Php 80.00 (back and forth)!
While in the NBI building, the line in the Step 1 (filling up the form) is not that organized until I reached Step 2 (Payment). It’s only Php 115.00 for employment use. Then I went to the 2nd floor for Step 3 (Encoding & Printing). All in all it took me 2 hours to get the clearance that will expire after a year (FYI, Police Clerance is just 6 months). I have my passport and old NBI Clearance for verification.
It’s almost 12 noon and I need to pass by the nearest SSS Branch (inside the YMCA Compound, besides SM Manila). I lost my UMID and I need a replacement. The guard there told me to go back the next day because the computer for biometrics is broken and I need to fill up the forms, pay Php 300.00 (via bank) for the replacement ID card and an affidavit of loss. I decided to just get a verification for my contributions by the recent company. Of course it’s another long line that took me 30 mins just for verifications. That’s how our government office works!
After that, I got an affidavit of loss nearby for Php 150.00. Then took the LRT1 and MRT3 for me to be at Sykes Recruitment Hub. It’s not rush hour and it was just approximately 45 minutes. That’s how to survive the Metro, it’s more fun in the Philippines!

Like A Newbie

It was November of last year that I’ve decided to resign in my CSR job in Makati so i rendered my 30 days and ended before Christmas. I’ve tried applying for different kinds of LOB’s, accounts and companies and I failed in less than 5 BPO companies that affected me (Like A Newbie). Until 2 days before Christmas, I passed in the tech exams and final interview for Sony CE in Sykes WCC, Shaw – Mandaluyong. It was a blessing because I hate the traffic along EDSA that took me 1 to 1.5 hours from Mandaluyong to Makati! The interviewer told me to wait for the call/text confirmation for the Job Offer because HR is not available that time (holidays are coming).
So I waited for 2 weeks, I received a text message that I need to be in the Recruitment Hub the next day together with SSS ID or document and NBI Clearance. Before I went there, I got my NBI Clearance and some SSS documents and I almost came late because of those documents. In my next blog I’ll let you know how I survive the Metro. Whew!
